Boondocks Bayou Grill in Blairsville

Food was ok nothing spectacular. Service was very slow & barely was checked on by the server. Took 40 mins just for appetizers. Tables that came in after us received their food way before us. Don't think I'll ever return

Being originally from Louisiana, red beans and rice is a staple there. My beans were hard as a rock, and long grain rice, not used by cajuns. Medium grain rice is what we use. And we cook our sausage in the beans, not serve it on the side, and charge extra for a link. I'd made suggestions to the waitress, hope they listened. Restraints open with a certain theme, good food in Louisiana is a way of life, not a gimmick.

Excellent, made in house food. The jambalaya was great, as are the ribs. Both the bread pudding and the key lime pie, also made in house, we're great, not like we've had elseware. Really a gem in the mountains.

Great food! Gouda cheese grits are outstanding! Also live the catfish & hush puppies.

This place was great. The food was amazing. It was very empty, I'm thinking because it's in a place that people really don't pay attention to. The inside is very nice, the draft beer was great. Worth a stop.

Boondock' s is a place I like to go with my lunch buddies, my husband, couples who are friends of ours, or even by myself. Outside it looks like an old barn but inside it's clean and tidy, simple and roomy. The ladies bathroom is clean and handicapped friendly. There is a wine/beer bar, and plenty of room for larger parties to push tables together.The food, most important of all, is really good and affordable. Cajun cuisine is delicious and not too heavily spiced, if you like more heat the kitchen is happy to accommodate. Seafood is fresh and flavorful; the Grouper is real Grouper, catfish is all you can eat on Friday, and the grilled is as tasty as fried. The ribeye steak is excellent, oysters are full and fresh, eaten on the shell or fried. It's all very good and I highly recommend Boondock' s!

I love the food here. Not really a kid menu and kids don't like spicy fyi. I personally loved the food everything was amazing!

I had mild wings that were not cooked through and had way too much sauce on them. The beans and rice were exactly that with no attempt at a recipe of sort. The waiter was very attentive but food had no quality.

Good fried catfish,i mean a big hunk of fish when i go out to eat this is the only pkace i go!!!

I ate here with my family on a Wednesday night. Restaurant was empty other than 3 other groups. I ordered the special all you can eat fish and chips. My dad ordered the jambalaya and my mom got the grilled catfish, grilled vegetables and gouda grits. The service was not entirely great for so little people and food came out slow. The beer battered cod was good though. Not soggy and had a wonderful crunch on the outside and inside was juicy and wonderful. I felt the hush puppies were way over fried so much so that one bite dried out my mouth instantly. The coleslaw was good as well had a nice sweetness and creamyness that I enjoy. My parents both enjoyed their dishes my mom loved the grits and veggies the most. Had it not been for the slow service on such a empty dinning room I would give it 4 stars, but when a restaurant is a dead as it was service should have been on point.

It wasn't at all a great time. The service was ok. The food was less than ok. The restaurant environment was cute and cool but it didn't make up for the terrible food. One of my friends didn't even eat their meal becuase it was really bad.

Went in around 5:30 and it was quiet. Special of the night was rabbit with rice, a gravy, 2 biscuits and coleslaw for $15.99. I thought it was a little pricey until it came out it was a half a rabbit and absolutely delish. Husband got a bbq sandwich which was wonderful as well. My kids got a plate of chicken strips and a plate of fish fingers which were grouper and also delish. Would absolutely recommend this place. Will be returning. Friendly staff and they didn't mind my girls being a little roudy even encouraged the 3 year old when she was dancing. Great service wonderful food

Catfish and steak were excellent!

1st time the wife and I ate here, I ordered the oysters, $18+, they brought me 8 small oysters, over cooked, I should have sent them back but didn't. The slaw had an off taste to it also. The fried okra was great and so was the fried catfish that the wife ordered. Seems like a very nice place but watch out for what you order.

Had lunch here with the family. Food was very good, as was the service.

Came here for a quick lunch stop with my Audi club during a drive. Lunch took 2 hours and sadly the food was less than appealing. I should've known better than to stop at a seafood place in a small town... The staff was incredibly friendly however.

Food was okay, service was not up to par. Waitress would disappear at the most inopportune time and would only show up sporadically. Grant it, we were a party of eight. The waitress would only bring one drink at a time to the table.

Tasty. The creamy-style gumbo was a suprising treat. Staff was friendly and gave just the right amount of attention to our table. Cool place.

I love Boondocks. Great Seafood in that Louisiana style. The gator bites are delicious. I love Saturday night all you can eat shrimp.

awesome place to eat

Hubby had the chicken wings-extremely meaty and he liked them a lot. I ate the French dip. Don't know why they put cheese on it and it wasn't melted all the way but it tasted good. I probably would've preferred without the cheese. The waitress explained that she was new but very attentive and friendly.

Worst meal in years. Asked about the "fresh vegetable" side and was told it was green beans, carrots, squash, and red peppers. I clarified, "it's all fresh" and was assured it was. It is NOT --- FROZEN, and inedible at that. Beer battered shrimp is soggy in very thick shell of batter; not like a light tempura. Buttermilk shrimp had nice crunch, but flavor was mediocre.

This was a great Catfish restaurant about 4 or 5 years ago but suddenly closed their doors. ??? Since then a few others have come and gone and I predict Boondocks won't be far behind. Visited for first time (and last) tonight. Tried the catfish, okra, and red beans and rice. I try never give a review because I don't want to put someone out of work and the same applies here. What I will say is this...if you want Catfish go to Huck Finns in Gatlinburg TN...not here. Business is scarce at Boondocks and it is unfortunate but understandable. I heard same owners also own Sicilys Italian restaurant which has great Italian quisine so all is not lost.BTW...the booth behind us was so LOUD and inconsiderate we couldn't leave fast enough. So much for their "quiet" atmosphere. , Nuff said !

Great burger, wife said poor boy was real good and son loved the French dip. Definitely will be back for dinner

The blackened grouper salad was great, the hub says his hamburger was one of the better ones he's had.

Fried fish was seriously under cooked while the french fries were cold and salty. Under staffed up front not so sure I'll return.

Did not get what we ordered. Oysters tasted old. Steak tasted like it was going bad. Grease was burnt. Baked potato was not done on inside was hard. Will NEVER be back certainly not worrh ojr 75.00
